Magnus was beyond nervous. He’d been undercover for a lot of things before but this was really going to be the most difficult thing he’d ever faced. He was untrained for this, unprepared, and completely isolated here.
“… so until he returns, we have our temporary gym teacher Mr. Viktor Ragnarsson.”
He looked at the students, all sitting in the assembly hall. It had been a long while since he had been in a place like this and he was most certainly not the teacher. He was completely out of his depths but at least his work was minimal. His mother was a teacher and he would breakdown if he had to do what she had to do.
But he had to concentrate, after all, he was undercover, assisting with the protection of the principle who had been threatened. Of course, it was personal, but you could never be too careful with schools.
He looked down at his notebook, trying to remember how to get to the oval - which shouldn’t be as hard as he would think but…
“Excuse me,” he said, gently touching the shoulder of a teacher. “Do you know how to get to the oval? My map isn’t working out as well as I’d hoped.”
He smiled, he could’t help but. She had him by the neck, really, he’d never met anyone that wanted him as badly as she did, and it worked out, because he wanted her too.
“Sounds perfect,” he said, as he held her face and kissed her once more.
Dinner was forgotten for the moment, he had a Rebecka Lindahl to kiss.
But Henry did not seem to enjoy being left out, and he barked at them and moved around their feet and Magnus pulled back and looked at him.
“No, out of the kitchen, you know the rules.”
The puppy tilted his head, eyes wide.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
But Henry lay onto he floor and rolled onto his back and Magnus’ resolve faltered, he looked at Rebecka, her bright eyes looking at him.
“Great, now I have two of you in my life.”
Rebecka giggled at Henry as he lay there, his big expressive eyes looking up at then, his soft pink tongue lolling out of his mouth.
Rebecka reached up and turned Magnus’ chin to her so that he was looking at her again.
“You are a lucky ducky then,” she said with a fair amount of sass and then she gave him a quick kiss.
But as soon as she kissed him, she was pulling away and getting Henry up off the floor and cuddling him.
“Come on, we know the rules,” she said as she looked back at Magnus and winked. And then she was focusing on Henry again as she walked into the living room with him and they sat down to look at the beautiful tree they had put up.
Henry moved to sit on Rebecka’s lap as she talked to him and petted him.
It felt like she was in some kind of dream, like everything she had ever hoped for was happening. It felt both completely unreal, and like the most real thing she had ever felt, all at the same time.
Magnus was beyond nervous. He’d been undercover for a lot of things before but this was really going to be the most difficult thing he’d ever faced. He was untrained for this, unprepared, and completely isolated here.

He stared at her, and he leaned forward.
“You were jealous?”
He raised his eyebrows, smirking, as he looked at her.
Nobody had ever been jealous of him before, nobody had ever thought that he was ‘gorgeous’. It never occurred to him that she would think of him in that way, he really had only eyes on her the whole time he was at the school.
“Bec?” he asked her, prompting her again. “Did you think that I was running off to make out with her in the office. Miss Lindahl! How could you!”
But there was a lightness in his eyes, a laugh on his lips.
“I…” she tried to protest as she leaned into his chest with her head, hiding her face from him. “I thought…” and then she made a small sound that was partly a sigh, partly a little cry but mostly a little laugh.
Because it really was funny.
And when she thought back on it now, he really had been clear that he wanted to spend time with Rebecka. He volunteered in her class, he stopped by at lunch, he sat next to her at assemblies… he was always around her. And maybe that’s why she noticed how much he was called to Anna’s office, because he was usually with Rebecka.
“I wasn’t really jealous,” she said as she looked up at him. “Well, maybe a little jealous, but I was sad, sad that you were taken. Sad that I wouldn’t have a chance with you.”
She reached her hand up to hold his handsome face.
“I’m sorry,” she said as she smiled at him
He was smiling down at her, stepping forward as he led her back, as his nose moved against hers.
“Say it again,” he said quietly.
It made his heart rush, his whole body light up.
To think that she was jealous, that she had wanted him that much that she was jealous. He had never been someone to be jealous of. He wasn’t good at anything, other than being a cop and cooking, no women really looked at him, besides Bec. And she had been so dominant against him, so willing to tie him up.
It made him shiver to think that she was… possessive.
That she wanted him to be hers and hers alone.
His lips gently brushed hers.
“You were jealous.”
Rebecka gasped when he moved her, his nose brushing against hers. She held onto his waist as his lips slid against hers.
“I want you to be all mine,” she whispered against his lips. “No one else can have you.”
Rebecka closed her eyes at the intimacy between them and she pulled him closer to her. Her mouth pressed against his as her hand moved up his back.
She smiled against his lips when she felt him respond to her kiss.
“I was even jealous of Henry, until I met him. I think he and I can share you, but only Henry, and this…” she said as she kissed him harder, raising up on her tip toes to meet him. “This is only for me.”
Rebecka pulled back slightly and opened her eyes to look into his.
“Would that be alright with you?”

Rebecka let the pen fall to the pad as she looked at him. Her head tilted slightly and a smile spread across her face.
“I love surprises, and I love your cooking.”
Rebecka leaned up and pressed a very light kiss to his lips.
“I guess I should tell you that I am getting you a little something, and it’s a very little something, but I just want you to have something to open on Christmas.”
She smiled as she raised her hand to hold his face. She couldn’t get him anything better that the presents she had given him from her class, but she could get him small things that might remind him of her when she had to go home.
“And I like that you’re not good at keeping secrets, because I want to know everything,” she giggled. “But you were very good at keeping your identity from me!!! I thought you and the principal…”
She blushed at remembering how sad that thought had made her.
He let out a breath as she smiled at him, happy with the present he intended to give her, and he smiled when she told him that she was getting him a present too.
“You don’t have to get me anything,” he said.
Because if she was getting him an actual present, then he should get her an actual something as well. She was going to leave at some point, back to school or – or elsewhere, so he may as well make the most of it now.
He could spend a little something.
He looked up at her when she mentioned the Principal.
“You mean Anna?” he asked, and then he blinked at her. “What about us?”
Now she had done it.
Shit.
Rebecka opened her mouth, but no words would come out. She was going to have to explain it to him.
Her hand moved to cover her face and she groaned.
“You were so gorgeous, and I wanted to get to know you and Anna was always calling you and would run to her. And I know,” she said as she lifted up her hand to him. “I know you were doing your job, but I didn’t know it was your job and I thought… you and she were… more than friends.”
She swallowed and looked up at him. She hoped he didn’t think she was too foolish, but it was the truth.

Rebecka felt a warmth spread all through her body at his words.
“All mine,” she said with a smile. She was perfectly happy not to share him, to keep him all to herself. She would have to share him soon enough…
She laughed as Magnus grabbed the tree, leaving the other person who asked about it reeling. Rebecka loved seeing him like that, quick and decisive.
Rebecka stopped to look at the other decorations they had. There were so many wreaths and wooden snowmen and reindeer made of logs. She grabbed some string lights and pine boughs to decorate around his house and she lifted up a pretty red ribbon for his approval. She smiled and snapped a picture of him with her phone as he paid for everything and looked over at her. And then she rushed to him and took a quick selfie with him, their faces cheek to cheek, the tree lot spreading out behind them.
She wanted to remember this.
“Do we need ornaments or do we have some?” she asked as they walked out of the tree lot. They could make do with the lights and the ribbon and the few ornaments they had bought the day before if he didn’t have anymore.
She didn’t even register that she was always speaking in ‘we’ instead of ‘you’ and ‘me’. In her mind, firmly, they were 'we’.
“More purchases,” he said, his tone apologetic.
He had not prepared for Christmas, he had nothing save a small Christmas jumper for Henry that he had seen in the store and bought last year.
“I’ll need to buy more food too,” he said.
He had wanted to make her a Christmas meal, but perhaps that would be too ambitious for him, especially when they still had to shop for food, ornaments, and probably more condoms.
He felt his throat tighten at the thought.
It wasn’t as if he was embarrassed, but he didn’t want her to think that he was expecting anything.
Still, he thought. Better to be prepared.
Rebecka smiled as she cuddled next to him.
“Well then I am your girl. I am always up for more purchases,” she laughed. “But how about we make some ornaments? I have some tricks up my sleeve… I am a kinder teacher after all.”
As they were getting the tree home she told him about all the crafts they could make for the tree with just some paper and scissors and some ribbon, which they had already bought. She loved the idea of making decorations.
When the tree was situated in the living room, Rebecka beamed at it. It really was a beautiful tree, even bare with no decorations, it was special. It was their first Christmas tree together.
“Okay, so we need food, right?” she said as she squeezed his hand and went to start a list of the things they needed. “I need to pick up something, that you can’t know about… but we can go together and I can get it while you shop for food.”
She sat down in front of him, crossing her legs, ready to write a list of things they needed.
“What are you making me?” she asked excitedly.

“Wow, you’re getting a tree?” Felix said, completely surprised, and he looked at Rebecka. “I’ve been coming to this tree lot for years and haven’t seen this guy here the whole time, he never gets a tree.”
But he was grinning as Magnus made a face at him.
“You must be something special Miss Bec-Rebecka,” he said, teasing Magnus all the more.
Magnus looked around.
“Is there some twine I can strangle you with around here?”
But Felix just laughed it off.
“My partner is working at the moment, trees aren’t really her thing, but if Magnus is having a dinner at his place, we would not decline an invitation-”
“- I’m not, you’re just inviting yourself over-”
“- and if not, we’re also available for New Years. Oh, looks like I found my tree. I’m off, it was nice to meet you!”
And as he arrived, he left, and Magnus turned to Rebecka, cheeks flushed at the intrusion of the man.
“So… that was Felix.”
Rebecka loved seeing Magnus flustered, and Felix was a master at it. She held her hand up to wave to the man and then she was walking to Magnus and putting her cold hands on his flushed face.
“Wow, he’s…” she said as she stifled a giggle. “I like meeting your friends, and we can have dinner with them if you like.”
She smiled up at him softly. He looked so gorgeous in the cold, his blue eyes reflecting the crisp air around them.
“… but am I special Detektive Martinsson?” she said as she leaned up to kiss his cold lips.
Magnus was beyond nervous. He’d been undercover for a lot of things before but this was really going to be the most difficult thing he’d ever faced. He was untrained for this, unprepared, and completely isolated here.

Rebecka melted at the bashful smile on his face as he agreed to call this a relationship.
She tried to hide it by smiling wider, by taking a bite of the toast, but she couldn’t really hide how she felt about him or how he made her feel.
“You can make this for me again anytime,” she said with a mouthful of food.
They talked about the weather as they ate and Rebecka drank her coffee.
And then they were getting ready to go out and get the tree.
Rebecka was so excited she was more skipping than walking as she pulled Magnus along with her.
When they got to the tree lot, Rebecka pulled Magnus close to her and she asked, “How big do we want? Not too small, but not too big either? We don’t want Henry to try to eat it, but we also don’t want him to think it’s a climber for him,” she chuckled.
There were a few people walking around looking at trees as Rebecka pulled Magnus toward a row of trees a little taller than him.
“I’m going to measure them in Magnus’,” she laughed as she stood him next to a tree. Her eyes shone bright as she smiled up at him.
He smiled at her.
God, she was beautiful.
If it wasn’t so strange, he’d marry her right then and there. Because she was smiling up at him, and she was holding his hand, and her face was a little blushed from the cold and there were snowflakes in her hair.
He wanted this to last forever.
“This one’s fine,” he said, grabbing the nearest tree to him, without even looking at it. “Let’s get decorations.”
He wanted to get back home, he wanted to decorate the tree and not spend any time wasting time. He wanted to take her out for ice skating and hot chocolate and laugh with her and dance with her.
Magnus wanted to get as many minutes with her as he could.
He wanted a lifetime in two weeks.
“MAGNUS!!” she squealed, but if she was honest had grabbed the tree she had been looking at. “We just got here!”
But she was laughing and cuddling next to him as he held the tree in one hand and her own hand in his other.
And that’s when she heard the voice behind them.
“Detective Martinsson?”
Rebecka turned to the voice, a huge smile still on her face.
He stopped when he heard the voice, and he smiled when he saw Felix standing in front of him.
“Felix, how are you?”
He left Rebecka for a moment, not letting go of the tree lest someone steal it from them. They had already claimed it, there was no way he was letting go.
“Felix this Bec- Rebecka,” he said. “Reb- Bec, this is Felix. We sort of-”
“I work for the fire department,” Felix said, as he held his hand out to Rebecka. “We sort of know each other through work. Are you guys hunting for trees too?”
Rebecka smiled widely at the man as she reached to shake his hand. It didn’t escape her notice how Magnus stumbled over her name and it made her feel very warm inside. She was Rebecka to everyone else, but to him, she was Bec.
“I thought we were hunting for a tree, but apparently Magnus and I are pros and we only needed to look at one tree,” she giggled. “It is the best tree on the lot though.”
Her eyes moved from Magnus to the other man.
“It’s very nice to meet you Felix.”
It was nice to meet people that Magnus knew. Magnus had met all of Rebecka’s work mates, it was only fair for her to meet his.
Magnus was beyond nervous. He’d been undercover for a lot of things before but this was really going to be the most difficult thing he’d ever faced. He was untrained for this, unprepared, and completely isolated here.
